Minnesota Emergency Guidelines
In 2005, there was a collaboration among more than 27 providers and professionals discussing care for sickle cell disease patients in the emergency room setting. The product of this collaboration was the 2005 emergency room guidelines for sickle cell disease. The use of these guidelines is recommended by all emergency room providers. Also the Minnesota Department of Health has contact information of providers (both adult and pediatric) who are contacts for sickle cell disease in Minnesota.
Please download a PDF of the guidelines here (2 pages): Minnesota Emergency Guidelines for Sickle cell Disease

Many individuals with sickle cell disease have had varied experiences with the condition in the last few years following publication of these guidelines. We want to know your experiences, as this would help in planning, evaluating and recommending future policy adjustments. Your comments are welcome.
