I know from my experince alone that a lot of times just to motivate yourself to go through your day is a hardship. The situation that we are in, may weigh heavy on us emotionally & mentally and u can start feeling sorry for yourself. Because we think that we are the only ones who bare this burden you can feel alone with all you have to deal with. We can at times feel overwhelmed with going in and out of the hospital,in and out of the er(emergeicy room) trying to make it to your clinic appointments trying to stay healthy. While all this is going on you have to put up with nasty comments flung your way, Dr.s & nurses challenging you on the the best course of action to take to deal with your health care only if they would listen to us more things would run a lot smoother & put there egos to the side. We are survivors & knowone knows our body better than us. The medical community can learn a great deal from us, if they give us a chance. So on those days we wake up & feel not so motivated, just remember it can always be worse & going in and out of the er & in and out of your clinic appointments, know that it is to our benefit. To my Sickle Cell Anemia Disease family know that u r not alone in this war I’m riding shotgun with you. Shotgun means front seat for those who didn’t know what the term means.
